It is important to choose the right size bike as a correctly fitting cycle will be more comfortable to ride and enable you to ride faster, further and in more control.
To be able to correctly choose the size of your bike you must know your inside leg measurement. To find this out correctly it is best to use the following method: Stand upright with your back to a wall and with your shoes off and legs together. Take a pencil and mark the wall at crotch level and measure the distance to the floor.
You can now use this measurement as a guide to which size bike you need. If your measurement falls between two sizes try to bear in mind your overall height. If your legs are long for your height you should perhaps err towards the smaller frame size. If your legs are short for your overall height then maybe the larger frame size would be better for you.
Frame with a sloping top tubeIf you are purchasing a bike with a sloping top tube then use the following formula: Inside leg measurement (cm) x 0.64 The result of this sum will give you the frame size you require. If you fall between sizes we advise you go for the smaller size. If you are unsure please contact us and we can help to advise you further.
